By project Start a business in high school! We support a new generation of entrepreneurs. Through workshops and an incubator, we develop their innovative thinking, creativity, and entrepreneurial skills.
How is it going?
Active high school students will go through the cycle from idea to presentation of their final project at the final Impact Hub MashUp in the Ostrava Impact Hub during one school year.
Inspiration
In the first phase is taking place to introduce examples of young entrepreneurs who have succeeded with innovative and low-cost ideas. The goal is to convey the courage, motivation and desire to create even without a large budget.
Education
Second phase focuses on developing key entrepreneurial competencies. It teaches how to recognize business opportunities, create a business model, validate ideas and test them.
Incubation
In the third phase comes consultation and work on the ideas created with mentors and experts from practice. The goal is to adopt an entrepreneurial mindset. The first idea may not be the right one - it is important to gain experience and the desire to keep trying.
Start a business in high school!
The cross-border project Take the plunge into high school! – Joint inclusive education without borders connects 16 schools from the Moravian-Silesian and Žilina regions and responds to current problems in both regions.
Project goals
✔️ Teach students to seize opportunities and ideas and turn them into value - financial, cultural or social.
✔️ Increase the quality of education and respond to the challenges of border regions (youth unemployment, talent drain, weak connections between schools and the business environment).
4 projects, 5 faces, lots of inspiration
In interviews, entrepreneurs from Ostrava told us about their entrepreneurial journeys, successes, and obstacles they had to overcome. Their stories show that you can start very early, and that is what gives them a big advantage today.
Project results
✔️ Modular educational program with digital and freely available materials.
✔️ Incubation of student projects through workshops, consultations and mentoring.
✔️ Development of students' soft skills (creativity, perseverance, self-confidence, teamwork, etc.).
✔ ️Trained educators who will gain new approaches to working with students.

The project runs from 1 February 2025 to 31 January 2027 and is co-financed by the Interreg Slovakia-Czech Republic programme (www.sk-cz.eu), specifically the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), with a contribution of EUR 190,639.096. The project is supported by the Society of Community Centres and Impact Hub.
