Sunrise in Prague

Project Pragulic was created as part of the first year of the Social Impact Award competition - in spring 2012. It is a socially beneficial enterprise that provides non-traditional tours of Prague to foreign and domestic tourists.

The routes mainly lead through remote parts of the city and the guides are homeless people or people with past homeless experience. Their earnings make up 50% of each ticket. With this money they can buy food, accommodation or save something for the future, and in the long run even change their lifestyle.

Pragulic is one of the most popular activities implemented at the Hub. They are regularly approached by journalists, appear in newspapers and on the internet as a great example of socially beneficial entrepreneurship. Over the past two years, they have also won a number of other awards - Sozial Marie, Erste Foundation Award for Social Integration, Fidelity Future Impact Prize, etc.

"This type of business is still not very well known here. Some people were skeptical about Pragulic. We are trying to raise awareness in this area and explain what socially beneficial business is. We speak at conferences and lectures. I hope that thanks to our successes abroad, we will be able to show that it works and thus change the perspective here as well. It is a different way of thinking about the world. It is an entrepreneurial approach to solving problems."  says Tereza Jurečková, co-founder of the project.
